Fairview Mennonite Homes and Parkwood Mennonite Home Inc. Achieve Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada
Final score of 99.85% demonstrates the commitment to quality and safety
Dec 5, 2023 (Cambridge and Waterloo, ON) – Fairview Mennonite Homes and Parkwood Mennonite Home Inc. are pleased to announce they have been Accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada determined by a thorough assessment against national standards. This is the highest level of performance achievable.
“Volunteering to participate in this rigorous accreditation process provides us with an opportunity to dive deep into our processes, assess where we are on our safety and quality journey against the highest standards and identify improvement opportunities,” said Elaine Shantz, President and CEO, Fairview Parkwood Communities. “To have our Long-Term Care Homes, Home and Community Care Services and Governance rewarded with an Exemplary Standing demonstrates our commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents and clients.”
“I am incredibly proud of our staff who continuously work to improve and provide safe, quality care,” said Shantz. “We are among the first in seniors care to be assessed by the most current standards, the Qmentum Global Accreditation Program, which assesses best practices. We met 99.85% of the 671 standards included in the 29 Required Organizational Practices. These were assessed through meetings with staff, residents, families, Board members and health partners and reviews of supporting documentation. This was an extraordinary team effort and affirms our work on the ongoing quality journey which is anchored in our Strategic Plan.”
